Kodiak 450 has class-leading, precise and responsive handling with the best combination of comfort and confidence. In addition to a roomier riding position, the new chassis features great weight distribution and light steering. New responsive dual A-arm suspension provides a wider track width – up to 80mm wider than the previous Yamaha 450 ATV – for a more stable footprint. Longer stroke suspension with greater travel than previous mid-size ATVs makes molehills out of mountains.
The improved riding position is achieved with raised handlebars, a larger and plusher seat, repositioned gear shifter and larger foot wells that allows easy movement for an active ride. Because an active ATV rider is a safe one.
The Kodiak 450 features a 421cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine created to provide the perfect balance of responsive power with all-day comfort for the demanding farmer. Power is matched to a lower CVT shift setting to provide a seamless delivery at lower rpm for a relaxed riding experience and lower fuel consumption. And new rubber mounts reduce engine noise and vibration. The result leaves you relaxed and in control after a long day in the saddle.
Yamaha’s Ultramatic® automatic transmission is the industry’s most durable automatic CVT system. The system’s centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension which eliminates slipping and slamming of the belt at idle or engaged. This smooth progression prolongs belt wear, reduces heat and improves durability.
A new digital LCD meter featurers a large screen that contains all the information you need including fuel gauge, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, service meter, hour meter, 4WD indicator status, N/R/P gear indicator, engine warning light and water temperature warning light
Kodiak’s Electric Power Steering (EPS) offers light steering and precise handling. By providing the industry’s best balance of assist and positive feedback from the trail, Yamaha’s EPS system delivers maximum comfort and confidence for working or recreational riders. The EPS model is also fitted with a worklight.
